I use cdogg to rip all my cds, but I was tired of having to mess with the program everytime I wanted to rip a cd, so I wrote a little bash script that queries the cddb database, automatically assumes that the first result is correct, and then starts to rip in directories based on artist and cd information.
I've been told by quite a few of my friends that they've found this silly little bash script extrememly handy, and that I should share it, so
here . Enjoy.
The code itself is very simple ( doesn't check for errors and is very rigid as to how directories are named ) so if you've got any improvements please contact me via AIM ( goofyheadedpunk ) or by email (
goofyheadedpunk@gmail.com... seeing a trend? ).
It's not all that extraordinary, but I don't like gui ripping tools and I'm not too fond of constant repetative tasks. I hope someone else finds this useful too.
EDIT: I meant to post this in member sucsess stories, but somehow things didn't quite work out that way. Sorry if this seems a bit off-topic for the forum.
