CD formats, writing speed and software:general info

Please give me some general information about CD burning.
Suppose I have a disk.
I burn it with a WinA (arbit software for windows) and enable multisession.
Will I be able to continue multisession with another software WinB
IS it so that if I burn a disk with LinA (linux software for burning)
then I wont be able to mount it under windows.

Also tell me if I can continue WInA multisession with LinA

Also tell me how does writing speed matter.

Please help.
Thank you
