Is postscript enabled? If yes, you may need to check the settings. Can your office/browser/etc programs print?

yes postscript is enabled and can print other programs..

What actually happens when you try to print? Do you get error messages? If you do get errors, please post them.

What are you trying to print from? Can the app see the printer?

Is your print server (or firewall) blocking that particular app?

if i print, it prints a single page pdf, it prints a lots of junk pages.. if i print other text docs.. its all ok. thers no firewall/printer server blcoking.

Amother option may be that the print driver is not installed correctly - what printer are you using and is it set up for your system?

printer is configured properly on windows print server and i also select the exact printer(Canon GP 405 Postscript) in linux Printer Configuration.

Which app are you printing pdfs from? and when you say linux 8 do you mean Red Hat 8?

fara 05-13-2003 03:22 AM

Yes, am using Red hat 8, i tried to print from pdf viewer as well as from command line.

In my experience, garbage pinting normally means that the print driver is corrupted and needs reinstalling. So aprt from suggesting a removal and reinstall of the print driver, I'm stuck.

Anyone else have any ideas?
