You are trying to mount the entire drive i.e. /dev/sdb instead of a partition i.e. /dev/sdb2. However, LVMs can not be mounted like a regular filesystem. Your also going to have a problem when you try to mount the second drive because the volume names will be the same.

hmm...
How do I get past this ?

What I am trying to achieve is:
Daily backup my main disk to the secondary disk (connected as sdb) using full HDD rsync.
This way I will have a instantly deployable backup disk in case of any data corruption.


Please help.
