Question Cannot delete directory - it's "busy" but not busy.

RHEL 5.2, 2.6.18-194.el5

This is on ext3, no NFS involved. The directory seems to be in a strange state.

Empty directory:
eratl1prod-v1# ls -lR symlinkVOB/
symlinkVOB/:
total 5
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Nov 2 10:45 .
drwxrwxr-x 6 ccadmin ccusers 4096 Nov 2 10:24 ..
Cannot remove it:
eratl1prod-v1# rmdir symlinkVOB/
rmdir: symlinkVOB/: Device or resource busy
It's not busy:
eratl1prod-v1# lsof | grep symlinkVOB
eratl1prod-v1#
df shows unusual output
eratl1prod-v1# df -h symlinkVOB
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
df: `symlinkVOB/': No such file or directory
Othere directories at this level are fine
eratl1prod-v1# df -h *
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/vg00-ccm 9.9G 1.3G 8.1G 14% /users/ccm
/dev/mapper/vg00-ccm 9.9G 1.3G 8.1G 14% /users/ccm
/dev/mapper/vg00-ccm 9.9G 1.3G 8.1G 14% /users/ccm
df: `symlinkVOB': No such file or directory

I cannot unmount to fsck at the moment. I'll have to schedule some downtime to do that. Just hoping there was another way.

BTW, it also has a "weird" inode number:

Quote:
eratl1prod-v1# ls -li
total 25
1277953 drwxrwxr-x 6 ccadmin ccusers 4096 Nov 2 10:24 .
2 drwxr-xr-x 9 ccadmin ccusers 4096 Nov 2 10:21 ..
1277954 -r--r--r-- 1 ccadmin ccusers 53 Sep 23 15:52 .stgloc
1277963 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Nov 1 15:08 AF
1277965 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Nov 1 15:12 AFISG
1277955 drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Nov 1 15:08 CG
4294967295 dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Nov 2 11:04 symlinkVOB

eratl1prod-v1# df -i .
Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree IUse% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/vg00-ccm 1310720 14586 1296134 2% /users/ccm

If dbsanders can't unmount to fsck then booting a live distro is not an option.
