cannot connect with internet

Anyone can give me some suggestion ?

Every time I installed fedora 10 in vmware( on XP), I can connect with internet immediately. However, after I configure DNS and DHCP(did not work), I could not connect with internet.

But after I deleted all virtual file-- fedora 10 and reinstalled it without DNS and DHCP, I still cannot connect with internet. I deleted and reinstall again, but I still fail to connect with internet. Anyone can give me some suggestion ? thank you so much.

is your VMWARE set to use bridge or NAT or local only
for its network connection?

Win XP can connect with internet through DSL, but linux can not connect with internet. Both OS work at same laptop. It is strange, why at previous case, after I installed linux without any other configration, internet can be reached. But now after I reinstalled linux , I can not connect with internet. I know linux did not connect with NIC. The problem is how to connect with NIC through the bridge?

Both XP and linux use DHCP. But only XP can connect with internet. Thank you.

Is your network on Linux configured? What does "ifconfig -a" display?

That's the loopback address. That's fine, but you don't seem to have any other NIC cards configured for your Linux. You should install/configure your NIC card.

Thank you for your reply. I already tried it several times. i installed windows 2003 on the VMWare. now on VMWare, there are two OS, one is windows 2003, another is fedora 10. afte i set NAT for the network adaptor for windows 2003 and fedora10, why window 2003 can access internet, fedora 10 cannot access internet? i donot know what is wrong with fedora 10 configuration.

in addition, in host machine(XP) network connection, why there are additional network adaptors after i installed VMWare? is it right or wrong?
