Cannot adjust date+time

I just installed slackware for the first time
In GNOME, if i rightclick the clock, click on adjust date+time

It says
Failed to locate a program for configuring the date and time. Perhaps none is installed?

This happens under both normal user and root

I don't use Gnome - *shivers* - so ...

Open a terminal, and try
su -c date

If you get output rather than an error,
try
man date
on how to set time & date ....

Cheers,
Tink

To find out if it is installed:

Main Menu -> System Settings -> Date & Time
or as root
/usr/bin/redhat-config-date

Try this:

# date monthdayhourminuteyear

For example:
# date 281109592003

This will make: 28/11/2003 09:59

I too am having the same problem with adjusting the date/time. In gnome, it gives me the exact same response that tyir got. In kde, kcmshell gives me a signal 11. I was able to adjust the date/time when I first installed. Oh, I'm running slack 9.1 by the way. Anyway, it just stopped working one day. I was able to adjust the date/time on the command line using #date 010412572004
I don't know all the ins and outs of linux, so I don't know what is going wrong here. I'd imagine that it has something to do with a link to this program, but that's all just an un-educated guess. Anyhow, as I don't mind adjusting this setting through the command line, I'd still like to find a way to fix this little problem. Anyone have any explanations and/or solutions?

Thanks guys
