Question Can we edit BIOS setting from within linux ?

some settings, yes. u can that it DOS u can also do it in Linux.

To flash your BIOS firmware chip on motherborad, things need are flash bios program like Awdflash.exe that should have document tell everything what to do, binaray file .BIN(size of 256, 512, power of 2 usually, and so on) that fit your model of motherbroad and firmware brand like intel.

There used to be a great kernel driver that created the /dev/bios device that let you completely access the bios flash, dunno if it's still viable though, last I time I used it was 2002.
