can some one explain this

when I have a web browser open and have viewed a flash video
then suspend the computer through the KDE applet then come out of suspend
the flash player has no sound restarting the web browser fixes this
BUT
when I switch to a virtual terminal (back grounding X)then use pm-suspend
to suspend the computer when I come out of suspend then switch to X the sound works on the flash player with out restarting the web browser

so where is the problem the flash player ,the KDE applet, the web browser or something in X

Well, "it depends." There are actually several possible sound architectures in Linux systems, so the problem could be in any number of areas.
