Can not create live usb for OpenSuse using Live USB creater :(
Folks,
I just downloaded OpenSuse 11.1 64 bit live cd from it's official site.I have live usb creater in my xp box , with the help of which I successfully created live USB for fedora 11 earlier. Now the problem is whenever I try to create live usb using Opensuse live ISO image after extracting all files to usb , it gets failed. The same thing is happening with OpenSolaris 11 live cd iso image. Does this mean that live usb creater I have, was only foe Fedora distros? Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

hope it helps http://en.opensuse.org/Live_USB_stick btw i've tried the fedora live usb creator on fedora ..works perfect! :) tried it on another distribution :( ... failed but i'm not sure (maybe was a special situation) |
Fedora liveusb creator is for Fedora images as far as I know but you can use UNetbootin in linux or windows to create liveusb's of most distros live images. Have used it myself in Fedora to install several non fedora images to usb devices. :)

Thanks a lot for bothering, buddy...But this link helps in "How to create a bootable openSUSE 11.0 USB stick from a running openSUSE system " and that is not exactly my intentions. My concerns are using the live usb creator to create live usb using .iso image of other distros. Lets see what I can do with the link you have sent. Again thanks a lot for your valuable time. |
