can i create a local yum repository?
 

i would like to have a local yum repository.

ive seen the .conf file where you can specify the cache location, and the repositories folder, but whats the process to set up a local repo? like say, one that syncronizes at night, and then i can access from ity during the day? with as often as i build new and rebuild old, this would be a huge help.

Errrm.. go for it, I built one locally for all the servers at my last job. There's nothing there to stop you from creating your own yum repository.

so uh..... how did you go about setting yours up. as much detail as you can provide on your experience would be great. :)

Mount any repository and share over FTP into intranet.

So you gonna go around and tell everyone to use this as your answer for every type of mirror or repository question? I really don't see the need to use this for a local yum repository. Perhaps you should be more specific in answering the actual questions instead of promoting software that might not be relevant to use in some or all situations members may have.
