Welcome to LQ

You have to provide more complete information---for example, have you already installed Linux and--if so--what version?

The first choice for installing Software is with the package manager. Depending on the distribution (version), this will have different names, but it is there somewhere.

Ah, the exe files - as a rule those simply don't work on Linux, they are a windows format. Linux does have wine, however, which allows for emulating a windows environment so you can still use exe files. Not everything will install, however, and some applications that do simply won't run very well. You should always search for a Linux version of whatever program you need but sometimes you'll find that it doesn't exist as some companies feel they should cater to the MS/Apple world exclusively.

Btw, you should consider mentioning your distribution (version of Linux) in your profile. It makes it a lot easier to offer assistance as things may vary considerably from one distribution to another.
