Question Can anyone help me make my computer safer please?

I use KDE3.0. Everytime I boot my computer it automatically login as my none-root user. I really don't like it and want to make it ask for username and password because it is laptop computer. I tried some changes in login manager (auto login and passwordless login are disabled), but nothing works. If I relogin using option "login as different user", it will ask me for username and password. I want to make login setup to ask same everytime I boot my computer. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Try to change the security level to more restrictive through Control Center in KDE
