Can't Resize Partition

I currently have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on a 100gb partition on my laptop. I am wanting to resize it and dual boot with with Fedora on a 50gb partition. However I am not able to resize this partition, or any on this harddrive for some reason.

When I first got this laptop Ubuntu took up the whole drive. I resized it down to 100gb and created a new partition to store my personal files. I don't recall having any problems with it then.

Using the Fedora installer and trying to resize does not work. It just gives an error about not having enough disk space.

I booted up with the Ubuntu live disk and tried using gparted to resize but the only options I have are to delete the partition, which I don't want to do as I want to keep Ubuntu, and edit labels.

Maybe I am forgetting something but I don't remember this being very difficult before.

Ok, I figured it out. It was mounting swap. So I had to turn it off before it would let me edit the other partitions.
