Can't play online games on Linux (Ubuntu 9.04, Firefox)

I can't play any online games. A play button appears, I click it and nothing happens.
(Animated ads have the same play button but they do play).

And youtube videos just say black, no play button or that bar at the bottom show up.

I thought it was my flash player but I went on their site and downloaded and installed the latest one.

Any idea what's up?

On ubuntu, rather than going to Adobe it's usually better to use the package management to install flash a la http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/flash rather than getting it from Adobe's webpage.

It does sound like it is a flash issue though, so I'd recommend ensuring you have it installed and restarting the browser.

This seems like this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ee/+bug/410407
There are several work-fixes posted on the web:
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/fix-for-fl...se-clicks.html
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1312123

Also try to fallow the advice of sarum1990 and don't install anything if your package manager as it.

When I go to Applications, mine says "Add/Remove" instead of "Ubuntu Software Manager."

It's the same thing(they probably changed the name), but I recommend to you to use the synaptic tool. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticHowto

Oh, then I guess it's not my flash player because it's on and it's updated.
WTF?

Can you give us more input about your problem. Is it the bug that I pointed out(mouse clicks doesn't work on flash)?

If it is tell us what you tried from the links that I gave you and if you had any trouble or question regarding how to implement the suggestions on those posts.

We can only help you further if we have more details. Thanks.
