can't access Windows thru /mnt

I don't know if it's due to my ignorance, but, I somewhat can't access Windows through the /mnt folder like a can with my Mandrake 10.1 ..
I have just changed my linux to Fedora 7....

There seem to be nothing in the /mnt folder...

Thanks guys

You need to mount your Windows partition if it's not mounted.

Do you mean Mandriva? (Mandrake is obsolete)

Some distros automatically create mountpoints (directories) in either /mnt or /media.

If there is nothing already set up, you can do this (I'll assume that Windows is on /dev/hda1---substitute the correct device name--check with "fdisk -l" if necessary)

Code:
su ##to become root##
mkdir /mnt/windows
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows
cd /mnt/windows
ls
You should now be looking at your Windows files

Assuming that this all works, you can edit /etc/fstab so that it happens automatically.
man mount
man fstab
for more details

pixellany answer is perfect!

If there is anything I could think of it would be to keep an eye on the message you receive when the Linux refuses to mount it. It should give out hints like the partition may be busy which means it is already mounted in either of the two directories as indicated by pixellany
