Called name not present

When I SSH into a VMWARE ESX server (Red Hat is under the covers), i get this:

rmccain@linux:~> ssh root@cs99la08
root@cs99la08's password:
Last login: Fri Jul 7 09:51:48 2006 from 23381-23537
21704: session request to failed (Called name not present)
21704: session request to 172 failed (Called name not present)
[root@cs99la08 root]#

I've google around and see this might be related to samba, but I don't have samba installed on this server.

Any ideas?
