Browsing Fail

Hi Guys.

Recently I installed CentOS 4.2 Final release in my notebook. By default Firefox 1.0.7 and Konqueror 3.3.1 got installed along with. Now when I am trying to browse the sites using Konqueror everything works fine(From where I am posting this)..but with firefox nothing comes up..I mean no web page opens..I tried palying with setting but that didn't helped..then I installed Netscape browser 7.2 but that also is having the same issue..not able to browse.

So right now I can browse with only konqueror..so what could be the issue and suggested solution ?.

Are you running through a firewall or proxy server, and if so, are the correct settings provided within Firefox under Options | Connection Settings? most browsers should auto-detect settings, but you might need to manually provide details.

No there is no firewall or proxy stuff in between at all. And the same kind of settings are there in konqueror.

Guys..

Still my problem is there..only one difference I can see between firefox/netscape and konqueror is that konqueror does not use mozilla script..where as firefox and netscape both use run-mozilla.sh. "Does that is some where releated with my problem ?".

Also one more thing I tried deleting default profile and creating new profile but that also didn't help..:(.

So what could be possible cause..any suggestion ?

Hi Guys..

Finally some one from some other linux forum gave me the solution and it really worked..thanks to him :).
Solution is below..
Quote:

1. Type about:config in the addressbar of mozilla firefox/netscape.
2. Scroll down to network.dns.disableIPv6
3. Right click on the value and set it to true.
4. Close the browser and restart firefox/netscape.
