broken pipe

Hi,

I just upgraded to RHEL5.2 and for some reason pipe is not working.

For instance, within a directory that contains .txt files. The following command returns nothing:

Code:
ls | grep txt
Any ideas?

If the files are LITERALLY .txt they're hidden, and an ls
won't show them unless you add the '-a' switch. If they're
something.txt, the grep should filter them ... you shouldn't
need the grep, though, just do
ls *.txt

Cheers,
Tink
