Boycott LinuxToday.com

This was on the front page of DistroWatch.com

We urge our visitors to boycott LINUXTODAY.COM. LINUXTODAY.COM is currently sponsored by Microsoft Corporation and displays sponsored anti-Linux content on its web site. We consider this practice immoral and hypocritical for a web site that acts as a Linux advocacy resource.
PLEASE DO NOT VISIT LINUXTODAY.COM.

Now what kind of website accepts advertising from a company that opposes and spreads degrading propaganda about the product that it's supporting. It's like if Burger King paid McDonalds to put up posters saying why Burger King is better then McDonalds in McDonald's Resturants. It's Just Wrong.

PS I checked it out myself and I saw a banner add for the Microsoft "10 reason's why microsoft server is better then linux" page

Exclamation

Bah, he's right. at the top right of the page is a large 200x500 ad block with links to 'whitepapers' such as "Yankee Group: Large Enterprises: Switching from Windows to Linux "Prohibitively Expensive, Extremely Complex, Provides No Tangible Business Gains" This two-part, non-sponsored report calculates that a major Linux deployment or switch from Windows is four times more expensive and takes three times longer than a Windows upgrade."
LinuxToday.com is defaming itself and the community product it stood for. what a shame.

Linux is that bad? Bull hocky

In short, I hate anti-linux campaigns. Perhaps you can even consider it racism among operating systems. Linux is made to look black and bad, and Microsoft pretends to be spotless white.
Microsoft ought to know better than to toss oil on a growing fire.

Closed. Advertising is a way for a site to gain revenue and doesn't usually reflect the policy of a site. Look at it another way: Microsoft is funding Linux.

And let's not post threads like this, eh - if you disagree with the policy set by a site, email the site itself.
