Bootup Applications

For an at home personal computer that I occasionally connect up to a network connection do I need the following programs loaded during the boot:
- NMB
- SMB
- IrDA

They failed when I shutdown so I just stopped them from being loaded when I boot.. Everything SEEMS to work ok without them.

nmb, smb: is for windows computers to use files on your linux computer via network neighbourhood. these aren't usually needed if you want to use files on windows computers from your linux computer.

irda: only useful if you want to use wireless infrared devices.
