Question Booting RH9 with RH8 boot disc

Hi all,
Well, i have a very strange problem on hand here..
I have RH 8 on my computer, and i wanted to upgrade it to RH9( just for the heck of it before i go for Fedora) .....so i got myself RH9 cds(3). Now.....the first cd DOESNT BOOT!!!. When i checked ....the files in the directory /isolinux/ havent been written properly, as in they are corrupted....I guess thats the reason why the cd doesnt boot.
I have a RH8 boot cd that works perfect....
I was wondering if i can boot from that cd and then try and install RH9..
Also i wanted to know if it is possible to upgrade from inside RH8, as in run *redhat-config-packages*

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

If you downloaded RH9, try and burn the 1st cd again. If you bought it, then return it. You will need the 1st cd to install RH9. If you update all of your apps. and the kernel, then you will basically have RH9 on your system.
Have you checked out apt? Makes updating apps. a breeze.
