My Redhat 7.1 machine was turned off without doing a proper shutdown and now it hangs during the boot up process with the following error

init:error while loading libraries:/lib/ symbol:_I_O_file_underflow version GLIBC_2.1

I tryed booting with
"linux single"
"linux emergency"
but I get the same error

Any help would be great. I'm very close to just reinstalling the whole system, but would love to avoid it.

Nathan Smith
