Books for sadists

no one asked what books to recommend for a while, so i thought i'd do it! :) I'm after rather advanced books tho, on network administration. Not how to set up samba or X...

i'm currently trying to set up BIND and DHCP to automatically update my DNS server... for the sake of it... but i can't find any info about it other than the way that a few people have done it, and i can't find a single bit of debugging info to even start to find why it's not working... so any suitable books that assume you're not a newbie? r rather a set of books...

Since I don't have a clue what the hell you are talking about, I went to google and this is what I found:

Us mods are above the rules, we are the law on LQ as therefore we can post anywhere... :D Just kidding.
Though, it would probably fit better in the Networking forum.

MasterC 07-08-2002 06:48 AM

But, according to the rules if someone is unsure, they should put it here. Maybe he was "unsure". " Try and pick the most relevant forum for your post. If you are unsure put it in Linux - General." :D he he he, just kidding before I get whipped with a wet noodle

acid_kewpie 07-08-2002 10:39 AM

yes, this is the right forum, that's why i put it here.

Half_Elf 07-08-2002 11:08 AM

Double Post acid, PLEASE, double post, so we, little users, will tell you to respect the rules :D

acid_kewpie 07-08-2002 11:17 AM

ahh man i have always picked up double posts, since i first started coming here, all the mods used to take the piss cos i did...

trickykid 07-08-2002 11:54 AM

I hate double posts, I cringe when I see them and I ask myself.. WHY, WHY, WHY !!!!! :D

php 07-08-2002 02:07 PM

uhhhhhh the reason we double post is because we are too lazy to search..

Were all simulations in Jeremy's mind. He made us to mod the boards here... Were only programs that have some sort of AI built-in... :D

acid_kewpie 07-09-2002 03:19 AM

yeah my code isn't hugely stable at the moment, in case you couldn't guess. i had to reboot myself last week, that needs a whole lot of faith to pull your own plug and hope you come back in 2 minutes...
