blackbox help

well i currently downloaded slackware and i installed it on r00t can it wont work when i try and run it ive tryed it on my user and still it dont work when i type blackbox it says
connection to x server failed ????
how can i get it to work

Run the command "xf86config" to configure X. You have to do that before X will work.

well, i'd gues that your X server is actually working perfectly well, so doen't need reconfiguring. instead you are just trying to run "blackbox" from a terminal yes? well don't. create a /home/user/.xinitrc file if it doesn't already exist and make sure there's a line saying "exec blackbox" in it, and then run startx
