Tomorrow I tried to install LINUX on my AMD Athlon 1700 XP (I tried the mandrake 9.0)
The Cd is correctly launched at startup, I correctly see the first screen (install or help), then it loads something (I see a bar which is filling) and then nothing appends : no row, no error message, nothing : only a black screen
I have had the exact same errors. Have you found a way around it yet? I've checked my MD5 Sum, and even re-burned the CD's to be sure I didn't have corruption on that end.
I get the first part of the installer that says:
Enter to Install - F1 for help
no matter what I do, it goes to a black screen and dies. I found it odd that the monitor never goes to sleep mode or anything, it just chokes. I've tried expert install, I've tried patching with the 8.1 and 9.0 patch.pl file.. I've tried everything I can think of
