bizarre networking problem

On both of my linux systems (both using Fedora 2) i cannot access a few, specific web pages, but I can from an XP box on the same network. some sites also access very, very slowly in linux, but fine in windows. also, these pages that don't load, sometimes they do. I'm sorry if this sounds horribly vague, but the problem seems to be. it is the same with different browsers, and just started recently i believe, though it MAY have been when i upgraded from fedora 1 to 2. one of the systems is a laptop, and it has the same problems on an entirely different internet connection, and doesnt' care if it's using ethernet or wireless.

anybody have any ideas, i don't even know what to start looking at, any help would be appreciated.

look at the output from lsmod and see if you have
ipv6 loaded
if so try
alias net-pf-10 off
in your /etc/modprobe.conf and reboot
it will keep ipv6 from loading
basically nothing on the net is using ipv6 now
so you are communication with the wrong protocol

you are correct, i did have ipv6 running, but disabling it had no effect on the problem.
