bit version of kernel


Hai,

How can I come to know the bit version of the kernel used in linux?

hai I am sorry. What I really ment is how can I come to know that the installed OS is 32 or 64 bit version?

Your kernel is compiled for an x86, which is a 32 bit processor.

Use the command "arch" to find what your processor architecture is, if the output is x86, then your processor is 32 bit.
