Best wallpaper-setting software?

I'm in the middle of writing a HOWTO, and one of the things it'll cover is setting a wallpaper in an X11 session.

Just curious as to what software people like to use for this task? Specifically, I want to know about any background-setters that can either put a single small image in the center of the screen, or tile it.

I've used XV, Gimp, wmsetbg, and a few others. Currently, I use qiv. Any others I should know about. . ?

Cheers!

fbsetbg comes with fluxbox, nice and simple, can tile stretch etc.

I use qiv myself but "chbg" is another - http://chbg.sourceforge.net/

'xsri' I think it's the default one on Fedora. Very capable.
