Give me some SUPER sites with SUPER themes... Post screenshots if you have! visit http://www.themes.org/themes , they have some themes, skins and stuff!
With redhat you need to tell liquid where kde is installed, the default is /opt/kde but redhat puts it in /usr/*. You do this with "./configure --prefix=/usr/*path to kde* You also need to install all the kde-devel rpm's.
verry nice... beautiful site.....!!!!! KDE LOOK
thanks a lot! give me more if you have...!
I saw on a thread a(and I forogt where) something.. It was a screen shot from a desktop where all windows were transparent... do you have any ideas where I can find a theme like these... or what.. X could do something like that!????
Is there any method to install a theme without having to copy all those files into dirs... and... it's a lot of work, besides it doesn't always work???!?
On the subject of kde..
What version introduced the transparent windows etc (like see through the console and k menu etc) I just upgraded to version 2.21..I was hoping this would have the extra eye candy..I've only installed base, libs, utils so far as time wasn't on my side..I'm doing it from source for some strange time extending reason..its kidna like habit now..
I'm told the liquid style theme gives you some transparency but I see all these people with cool desktop screen shots and am jealous..
Am I missing something or wasn't it used until a later version..or is it actually nothing to do with kde?
The metaGradient highcolor style has transparent menus, but for custom transparent menus you need to install liquid. The Konsole has transparency in all 2x series of kde, you just have to open a konsole and right click "Schema-->Transparent Konsole", then right click again and "Save setting"
[edit] I recomend that you install liquid + the nolines patch, both from kde look, here is a screenshot of my current theme using liquid with the nolines patch,
Kde 2.2 it's avalaible since what version of RedHat...? It' avalaible with slackware too??? ((Maybe I shouldn't ask here these questions but... creating a new thread, etc.... sorry))
The latest version of kde is 2.2.2, you should be able to download an update from redhat but because you are using redhat 6.2 there might be a shite load of dependencies that you'll need to install first, it might be easier to upgrade to redhat 7.2 before you go for the latest kde. It would be a good idea to upgrade to 7.2 anyway because of the bug/security fixes from 6.2.
Hey Aussie, I have liquid installed with the nolines patch.
I'm wondering, how did you get your KDE menu so transparent? Mine is slightly transparent, but is there a setting to change it?
[edit]also had another question, in the nolinespatch there is a new color scheme pablorg. I copied it to my kde color-schemes, but nothing shows up in the color control panel? do you know why?[/edit]
