Best Linux/Unix Flavour for FTP server

Just wondering what the best Linux/Unix flavour is for hosting a FTP. The system will be used only for the FTP services. Also is there any other really good FTP software out there, or just stick with what comes packaged with the Linux/Unix Distro?

If you only need ftp, no graphical config tools, I'd use Debian or Slackware (although any distro should work fine for this). If you use Debian, just do a base install and then apt-get install proftpd and you should be set.

vsftpd

I'd recommend vsftpd as it has an excellent security record. If you don't have an absolute need for ftp and are just looking for file transfer, I'd highly recommend using openssh's sftp capabilities.
