You're welcome

Its a valid suggestion though ...all sarcasm aside, I've seen a few people post looking for answers "urgently" (Not that you did this mind you...just saying) and they wait a few hours, maybe a day or two til someone posts up an answer, when in fact, 30 seconds using the site search or even google would have helped them...

As for your question...well if you do the search you'll see that this exact sort of question ("What's the best distro?" "What's the best distro for (whatever)") gets asked on a weekly if not daily basis...usually within some new user's first couple of posts.

No offense intended by the sarcasm.

IMHO, that has to be Gentoo with the gaming-sources kernel. It has all the patches included.

# Linux Gaming
Linux Gamers' FAQ
TransGaming Technologies
The Linux kernel preemption project

partition magic is a partitioning tool, not a bootloader, isn't it?

Gentoo can use any bootloader you wish, at least I know you can use grub or lilo. Doesn't mandrake use lilo?

Yeah Mandrake uses lilo and Partition Magic also comes with Boot Magic sorta like when you boot with the mandrake bootloader it gives you the option but it does override the lilo so only checking it can be done safely.

w00t,

I've moved your best gaming distro question to an existing best gaming distro thread as yours was also in the LFS forum, which the question has nothing to do with LFS.

Please place threads or questions in the most appropiate forum.

Regards.
