Question Best Book for Linux in General

I'm think of buying a book on Linux to help get a grip on things like:

- Shell Scripting
- Compiling source
- Checking dependencies
- Making a secure linux box
- Working with network utilities
- Under the filesystem (eg. what files go where, what the all the files on the system in plain english)
- Troubleshooting in general
- System Maintenance
- And anything else that would concern newbie who wants to become an intermediate and then eventually a guru.

NOTE: The book must be distro neutral

don't buy a book. most linux books refer to websites for more details anyway.

for simple commands to be a linux user, just check out the man pages of stuff found in your /usr/bin directory to start off. start with "man man". if u need more reader friendly stuff, just type basic linux commands or something like that on a google search.

for more info, just head to the linux documentation project at http://www.linuxdoc.org.

and if anything doesn't seem to go right, consult your local linux guru or come to this forum and post up!
