Talking Best book build Linux from the floor up?

I'm new to Linux, even though I have a MSCE. I have a need to know everything, I want to build a Linux machine form the ground up! That way, I can support it! And make it as compact as possible, and still get the job done without installing everyones package.
Any good books on Linux to do this?

Now, running Fedora
