.bashrc or .profile for root in SuSE

hi

i would be grateful if someone could advise as to whether it is possible to edit the bash config files for the root user only. i am using SuSE 9.0, and am unable to find .bashrc or .profile for root. maybe i'm being stupid, but a pointer in the right direction would be much appreciated.

kind regards

j

Create .bashrc yourself or edit /etc/bash.bashrc (check the $UID = 0 parts).

Yes:

[exile] root ~ $ ls -l .bash*
-rw------- 1 root root 14584 Nov 13 20:31 .bash_history
-rw-r----- 1 root root 787 Oct 8 15:31 .bashrc

Why ??
