Bash prompt


Hello

My Bash prompt has changed from $ to > I don't think I have altered anything by accident. Is this alright or is something wrong?

scott@linux:~> echo $SHELL
/bin/bash
scott@linux:~>

Thanks for any info.

maybe you updated your bash or did something else which changed your /etc/profile or /etc/bash/bashrc file?
