In Windows XP you can backup your favorites, how is this done in Linux? I have FC5 on my computer and thinking about upgrading to FC6. Where would the favorites files be located?
Thanks - JimmmyCFiverTwo
Open Firefox, click Bookmarks> Organise Bookmarks, in the new window that opens click File> Export...It will create a bookmarks.html file that contains all your bookmarks
You need to go to Manage/Organize Bookmarks (from the Bookmarks menu). And then find the option to export them. It's either under File or Tools (Firefox or Mozilla respectively). Then you pick the filename to save it as.
And make sure to backup that file. Then when you move to the new system, just do an import (from the same location you did the export) and pick that file. And they're all back.
Go into /home/username/.mozilla/firefox and copy the whole profile folder (the one with the weird looking name) This gets all your preferences, cookies, etc--including the bookmarks. Go inside this folder to see all the individual stuff.
