backspace function

Greetings. . .

When I'm on my linux terminal and ssh or telnet into any Unix box, my backspace doesn't work. Is there a command I can run that will allow me to use my backspace key? I've heard of a set stty erase something or other. Any ideas?

Thank you!

outta.

Hi,

stty erase ^H

The ^H should not be typed literally, you should press the <backspace> button.

If you want to make this permanent, put the line in your ~/.bash_profile or
~/.profile

Hope this helps.
