Background jobs

Hi, I want to ask a question.
If I'm running a script in background through ssh/tty and I close the ssh connection or logout from the tty. Does the script keep running?
What should I do to keep the script running in background?
Thank you.

Hi and welcome to LQ. I think the script will stop running. If you use "screen", you can close the ssh session and the program will keep running.

if you turn on the signal catcher 'nohup' you will be able to close the shell and let it continue to run:

process nohup &

where:
process = name of process you want to run
nohup = signal catcher
& = start in the background
