Angry automatic switchoff don't working!!


I am using RH8.0.When i shuting down the autmatic poweroff does not working.
After the shutdown it displays

power down.

Is there any way to overcome this?(RH7.2 it is working)

help me!!!

Have you enabled APM in the kernel and bios ? (Try modconf as root). You'll need either APM or ACPI support enabled, and then fiddle around with the different kernel options (eg. use real mode APM BIOS calls to poweroff) until it works.

Perhaps also have a search around this site - a lot of people have had similar probs...

Well in your /etc/modules add

apm power_off=1

and then it will work!
