Automatic Login

I am using RedHat 7.1 and I would like the ability to bypass the login screen and automatically login as a user on the system (not root). I found a section in the KDE that allows me to set up an automatic login, but it doesn't work. I think the problem is that the gdm is run first, then after I login the KDE is loaded. I don't really care if KDE or GNOME is running since I am going to start up an application (this machine only runs one custom application), the only thing I need is the ability to bypass the login screen.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
