All you have to do is share it and use

mount -t smbfs //server/share /localfolder/

what's on the cd you are trying to mount?

from my smb.conf i have
root prexec=mount /dev/cdrom
root postexec= umount /dev/cdrom

this works but will not umount unless i access another application have to sometimes reboot Win p/c to allow umount this configuration is unstable my thoughts were to setup a cd juke box I have a 3 cd changer + an extra cdrom drive. autofs looked appealing as it allows mounting drives on the fly and umounting after a specified time
