auto creation of user's home space

OK, I know I have seen something about doing this somewhere but for the life of me I cannot find it (I've been looking now for about 2 hours)...

I have a few machines that I have installed RedHat 7.3 on, one machine is the network server I have installed LDAP on it and configured all the machines to authenticate against the LDAP server, which all works fine. I have a remote LDAP admin utility that I use to administer the directory. Each of the machines on the network NFS mounts /home to the /home on the server.

Now, what I would like to be able to do is configure the system so that if a user is sucessfully authenticated but does not have a home directory created for them then the system to create one and copy the defaults (from /etc/skel) automaticaly at login.

The reason? Well it is a little bit of lazyness, I want a simple life when it comes to adding users, and also to make hings easy for my other system admins who are just getting to grips with these things as it is...

any help greatly appreciated
