auto boot usb

Hi,

I have been backing up everything on usb hd. But in order for the main hd to write to the usb I usually have to manually mount it after booting.

My question is how does one modify the boot process so it auto mounts the backup usb hard drive?

At some point "mount -a" is invoked and all automount partitions in /etc/fstab are mounted. Of course if the USB storage driver is not yet loaded at that point (or your external USB HD isn't plugged in) then your device doesn't get auto mounted. But, root can still mount it later.
