Articles/thesis about processes and filesystem

Hi!
I am supposed to write an simple article to compare a
linux-based operatingsystem and a windows-based operatingsystem
in difference of processes and filesystem.

There is a few thing of intrests.

Processes:
state of processes in linux and windows (XP)
scheduling of processes; What algorithms are in use in linux? Windows?
process-communication; How does process-communication works in linux? Windows?
deadlock; What (if any) is in use to avoid deadlock?

Filesystem:
Inparticluar everything is in intrests.

I have done a lots of search yesterday, but no success to find relevant reports on this issue.
Most time I've spent on acm , citeseer and ieee..
Of course I have googled a lot also.

I even sent an email to Microsoft and Redhat, asking them where I could find objective information. Microsoft gave me a link "Windows vs linux -the real fatcs"... (I belive you've all read this article), which was nothing to use. Redhat told me to ask you nice people!

Does anyone know where to find information about this things?
I would be really happy if someone could tell me where to search...
The most intresting information are thesis, publications and that sort of stuff.

Plz. Help me!

Google suggest might be of help to you: http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&tab=iw&complete=1
It will complete your search with popular matches, try linux scheduling for example:
one of the first matches: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/linux...pter/ch10.html

Good Luck,

Hi mpetrov!
Actually, I found that oreilly-link yesterday... That is the only information worth anything I've found.
The main problem seems to find the same sort of information to Windows XP.

hi mm2000,
I have Googled some more and found this:
Windows Internals(book) seems to be a very popular match. Consider going to your local library and looking for it.
Otherwise search for windows internals and some other specific term and you might get lucky.

Best Regards,
mpetrov
