Arrange device for multiple OSs

Hi guys...

I have 50Gigs free on my SATA and I would like to install several OSs in there.

I will install Slackware as my main, I need Windows up and running, I will give Gentoo a try as well as LFS and later on Debian.

I am using a 1G swap but I was reading that it is not necessary when you have enough RAM (I guess that 4G are enough right?) so I will reclaim that space...

Can you please guide me or point me to any documents regarding the arrangement of the HDD for this kind of things?

I mean what is better, Do i setups several logical partitions or is it ok when i install the linux systems in the same partition but in different folders?

I have read that 100mb for root is ok. But how do I setup the other things...

Help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

note:
My current setup in a 250GB SATA is:

/dev/sda1 - 1G swap
/dev/sda2 - 24G root
/dev/sda3 - 185G /home (full of music videos and stuff not erasable
/dev/sda4 - 25G was a lfs system once... is empty now.
