Apple will use Intel processor?
Hi,
It has come to my attention that Apple will in the future stop developing it's computers on a PPC processor, prefering those made by Intel. What does this mean? Will we be able to use Linux distributions on it without any common problems known to be on PPCs? What will be the advantages in porting Linux on it? |
Hi.
Yes, you'll be able to run any PC Linux distribution on the new Apple machines (you'll also be able to install Windows on them). That being the case, there's no porting required. Dave |
This has been discussed on this site before. Use the search function and it will show several threads regarding the apple to intel issue.
