apache with webdav on slackware 11 - acrobat cannot use it?

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has been using webdav for commenting on acrobat documents (pdf) with apache on linux?

the linux is slackware 11
apache is version 2.2.3 with the webdav compiled into the server.
It requests a basic login over ssl connection, also the webdav directory under the root is in a virtual host with ssl.

The webdav on ssl seems to be working fine on itsself but acrobat is not able to use it for sending and receiving comments.

My question: does anybody know if it is even possible for acrobat to use a linux-based webdav server or does it really needs windows OS to run on? I think not since it should not matter what os webdav runs on but I am at a loss here...
Uploading and downloading documents to the webdav works fine.

thanks for any suggestion.

kind regards,
Lieven
