Angry Apache 2 with Tomcat 4 URL Problem In Browser

Hey,

I have Apache 2 and Tomcat 4 running together through the web_app module.

Anyway, my problem is that when I try to access my web applications I always have to add /index.jsp after the url. So, I have 2 webapps called webapp1 and webapp2 say, to get these in my browser I have to type

www.server.name/webapp1/index.jsp
www.server.name/webapp2/index.jsp

If I type

www.server.name/webapp1

It does not come up and nor does this with a slash added and instead I get a blank page cos it looks in the Apache 2 htdocs root.

www.server.name/webapp1/

My configuration so far is that I set my ServerName in the httpd.conf, I allow index.jsp to be an Indexes and I allow my root container / to have Indexes.

I'm a little stuck now!! Help very much appreciates.

you need to add jsp to the default index's in httpd.conf maybe?
it will need to look something like this.

<IfModule mod_dir.c>
DirectoryIndex index.jsp index.htm....
</IfModule>

or you can do the same with .htaccess
