Any way to get mobile connection with Linux OS Asus eee pc 901?

Is there any service I can get that will run on my Linux OS. Connecting to Wifi hot spots is not doing it for me.

I am not a tech, and I decided to use Linux because it seems to run well.

I'd appreciate any help that all of you other more experienced users could provide!

You mean like connecting over 3G? If you have a cell phone that supports 3G and tethering, then yes you could do that. But depending on your carrier it could be very expensive.

With Verizon you need to pay a tethering charge of $60 per month; unless you have a Windows Mobile or Blackberry device, in which case the tether charge is $15 and $30 respectively. You would also need to have unlimited data on that particular phone, which is another $15.

So you would be paying $75 per month on top of whatever your current phone bill is, assuming you have a regular phone. It would be cheapest with a WM smartphone, but even $30 above the voice plan cost seems pretty high unless you are going to use it a lot.
